Service Description

In this class, you’ll learn about the history of Greek art with a focus on black-figure pottery. Black-figure was widely used from the 7th century to the 5th century, and many contemporary ceramicists use it to this day. It’s continued relevance can be explained as follows: it is a simple technique that requires simple tools, but allows you to create impressively detailed illustrations. During this class, you’ll get to try out the technique and create your own designs on clay tiles. Your decorated tiles will then be fired in a kiln and become durable ceramic which can be used to decorate your walls at home. The pieces will be ready two to three weeks after class.
