Oesa Cafe

Nonprofit

Zero waste

Open late

Alcohol-free

The cafe in 2025

More than somewhere to get a coffee.

The Oesa Café was Banff’s only nonprofit café: a zero-waste, alcohol-free space that stayed open late into the night.

We renovated a room inside a church and turned it into a café. We had board games, Turkish coffee, Peruvian food, music jams, language classes, art nights, open mics, poetry readings, and so much more.

There was always a reason to stay

One more game.
One more song.

A little of what it felt like.

From the original Oesa Café.

Why we closed

The space couldn’t keep up.

The café became so popular that the room’s electrical capacity couldn’t support everything happening inside it. We had to close, but the response showed us how much Banff wanted a space like this.

The next chapter / In the works

Same spirit.
A new chapter.

We’re now working with Rundle Church to bring the Oesa Café back.
